Highest will participate in the 22nd OPEN International Performance Art Festival, joining artists from China, the United Kingdom, Germany, Canada and Switzerland in Kaihua, Zhejiang. Curated by Chen Jin, this edition takes place at OPEN Art Space in Xiayu Village.

关于 OPEN国际行为艺术节

OPEN国际行为艺术节创始于2000年，首届在北京由陈进、舒阳、朱冥共同策划，是中国创办最早、具有重要国际影响的民间行为艺术节之一。它以艺术家自发组织的方式，连接中国与世界的行为艺术实践。

2009年，第十届 OPEN在北京798艺术区展开，为期约八周，汇集约300位中外艺术家，形成一场跨越国界的现场艺术马拉松。艺术节历史文献将这一届记述为当时世界规模最大的国际行为艺术节。

从北京、成都、西安、长春、上海到本届的浙江开化，OPEN持续把不同文化背景的艺术家带到同一现场：以身体、行动和时间展开实验，让作品在艺术家与观众的相遇中发生。

About the OPEN International Performance Art Festival

Founded in 2000 with an inaugural edition in Beijing co-organized by Chen Jin, Shu Yang and Zhu Ming, OPEN is one of China’s earliest independent performance art festivals and an internationally significant platform. Led by artists, it connects performance art practices in China and around the world.

In 2009, its tenth edition brought together approximately 300 Chinese and international artists in Beijing’s 798 Art District for an eight-week marathon of live art. Historical festival literature described that edition as the world’s largest international performance art festival at the time.

From Beijing, Chengdu, Xi’an, Changchun and Shanghai to this edition in Kaihua, Zhejiang, OPEN brings artists from different cultural backgrounds into a shared setting. Body, action and time become materials for experimentation, with works unfolding through encounters between artists and audiences.

Background and scale: Art Archives: festival history (2013); OPEN tenth-anniversary documentation (2009); International Association of Art Critics Hong Kong: retrospective account (2013). The description “the world’s largest at the time” is attributed to historical festival literature. This edition’s dates and artist list follow the final 2026 posters.
